Feis Ile 2013 (Part 1)

On the 16th March, the battle commences and you decide!

We are delighted to announce they we have teamed up to try and help Charlie Pitcher break the world record for crossing the mighty Atlantic Ocean in a row boat. As if trying to cross the Atlantic itself wasn’t hard enough he is trying to do in just a little over 40 days.

So it is the start of 2013 and already a busy year is planned! After such a nice break over the holiday period, it is great to be back into the swing of things. It all started this past weekend on the Viking Line Cinderella Whisky Cruise in Sweden.

We are delighted to announce that the No. 1 bottle of our oldest ever expression, the exceptionally rare Bowmore 1957, 54 Years Old has been sold for £100,000 (approximately $160,000) at the Bowmore Distillery on Islay. This bottle is not only the oldest whisky the distillery has ever released, it is also the oldest Islay Single Malt ever released.  As promised by Morrison Bowmore Distillers, owners of Bowmore,all the net proceeds will be donated to five Scottish charities. The owner, a resident of the United States, would like to remain anonymous.

Well, I think I have done my last trip of the year and what a year it has been! 98 flights, 120 nights in hotel but all in all a fantastic year of activity! 2012 consisted of a visit to a total of 14 European countries and attending a variety of events with the Bowmore range. Newer developing markets such as Russia and Estonia and more mature markets such as France and ther UK.    

We are looking to our Bowmore friends around the globe to help us spread the word about our magical spirit...

Well just back from a hugely successful show in Frankfurt in Germany! It could possibly be the biggest show in Europe and by judging from the queues on Saturday all to get in...it probably is!

At Bowmore we’re always trying to reach new heights with our whisky, but this is the first time we’ve had vertigo!
