Bowmore The Devil's Casks is a 10 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks, with a Pedro Ximenez cask finish. Non-chill filtered and bottled at 56.6% ABV, it reveals rich layers of dark fruit, warming spice and smoke.

The Series became infamous for revealing a darker, richer side of Bowmore through the influence of sherry casks, bringing together intense layers of dark fruit, treacle, chocolate, spice, and the distillery’s signature smoke. Also the name draws on one of Bowmore’s best-known local legends. The devil is said to have entered The Round Church in Bowmore village on Islay, only to discover there were no corners in which to hide. Chased by locals into Bowmore distillery, the devil escaped inside a whisky cask bound for the mainland, shaping the flavour of the spirit within.

Bowmore The Devil’s Cask 10-Year-Old and 22-Year-Old will be available exclusively at Bowmore Distillery and The Whisky Shop in the UK from October 2026, with availability in additional markets planned for 2027.

The Devil's Casks 10 Year Old

The Devil’s Cask 10-Year-Old is a fourth release small batch. The spirit has matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks and finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, creating the whisky’s dark colour and indulgent flavours.

Dark fruits and moist fruitcake are followed by warming leather and a gentle note of ripe apples, while hints of maple syrup and soft smoke add depth. On the palate, rich fruitcake and dark chocolate unfold with a smoky edge, layered with dried fruits, tobacco and a touch of herbal bitterness from angelica root.

The finish is long and full-bodied, with lingering dark fruit, soft smoke and warming spice.
