First released between 2013 and 2015, The Devil’s Casks trilogy became known for revealing a darker, richer side of Bowmore through the influence of sherry casks, bringing together intense layers of dark fruit, treacle, chocolate, spice, and the distillery’s signature smoke.
The name draws on one of Bowmore’s best-known local legends. The devil is said to have entered The Round Church in Bowmore village on Islay, only to discover there were no corners in which to hide. Chased by locals into Bowmore distillery, the devil escaped inside a whisky cask bound for the mainland, shaping the flavour of the spirit within.

Matured over 22 years in a marriage of first-fill Oloroso Sherry and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks, with a refill Oloroso Sherry cask finish, The Devil’s Casks 22 Year Old delivers devilish richness and dark complexity.
Rich dried fruits and treacle are lifted by orange peel and toasted nuts, alongside leather, smouldering smoke and a hint of sea air. On the palate, dark fruits, candied citrus and cherries develop with hints of ginger and cinnamon, alongside subtle notes of sea salt, vanilla fudge and coffee.
The finish is long and warming, with liquorice, aniseed and soft smoke, followed by a maritime edge.

The Devil’s Cask 10-Year-Old is a fourth release small batch. The spirit has matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks and finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, creating the whisky’s dark colour and indulgent flavours.
Bowmore The Devil’s Casks 22 Year Old is an Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured over 22 years in a marriage of first-fill Oloroso Sherry and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks, with a refill Oloroso Sherry cask finish.
Crafted using casks set aside during the era of the original releases and matured for another decade.
